Blind sight blog tour: Guest post by Ermisenda Alvarez

Welcome to the Blind sight blog tour! We will post two reviews of blind sight; one from Aniela´s perspective and one from Leocardo´s. Cecilia will be posting the review of Aniela on march 2nd and Sandra will be posting the review of Leocardo on march 4th.

But I think we will start this blog tour with a guest post by one of the authors to these two books. Please meet Ermisenda Alvarez!

Dreams, imagination, and perspectives
I had a dream; I wanted to write novels. I have been writing since I joined a Harry Potter guild on Neopets at twelve years old. You could write short pieces to receive points. Writing didn't stop there. I had a vivid imagination; I wanted to know more. Often, after finishing a book I pondered about how the story could have been retold from a different perspective, maybe a different character. What if we were able to read the story of Snape over the course of seven novels rather than Harry Potter? I had chance on my side; I met Eliabeth and we were two young women crazy about writing. So, what did we do?

We wrote. How did we write? The nature of our friendship began on a role-playing site whereby we wrote from different characters to create scenes and stories. We had a dream, vivid imagination and each other. What more did we need? Not much else as we embarked on an amazing journey and wrote Blind Sight despite living half the globe away. Writing a novel was a dream I have had for a long time but I was so excited to write a two-sided novel that followed two different perspectives. It was an ambitious choice for us to make but one of the best. We have not only challenged ourselves but have provided readers with a new way of reading. For those who only wish to read one side, that is okay, but for those of us who are interested in the power of different perspectives and multiple stories we have another side to offer. The power of multiple stories cannot be emphasized enough in our daily lives. How many times have we heard one story about an acquaintance but once we have met them, we receive a second story, in which might completely contradict the first.

Is either one wrong? Maybe not. But your understanding of the person, or novel in the case, is enriched. Growing up in a Spanish family and living in Australia has taught me a lot about language in my, so far, short life. My very first language was Spanish, but when school started English became my "mother" tongue. A simple saying can dramatically change through translation, those of you who know more than one language will understand this perfectly. I have had to translate pieces of Spanish into English for friends and even though the words I have translated make sense in English, only I can grasp the full meaning and implications of the phrase. Staying open minded, listening to varied opinions and soaking up what we can from the zillions of stories out there in the world is part of life.

Eliabeth and I have channeled the essence of that concept into our first two-sided novel. We live on an earth with billions of people. We all think differently, we see the world differently and together, we are the characters of humanity. I am inspired by dreams, imagination and people. The story of Leocardo, Aniela, and Odette in Blind Sight can be enjoyed through one color, one perspective but, why limit yourself? There is not only another color to live through but together, a new range of shades to enjoy.

You can run, run and run
I´m gonna stand right here and
stand my ground.
I won´t run,and disappear into the night,
I will stand right here in the light.
I wont surrender to this sickness
I won´t surrender to you.
You can run but you will still fall between the cracks
I won´t run, run with you.
I will stand my ground
I won´t fall between the cracks.
I will rice right up
through the ground stronger than you.
Always stronger without you.

Book review: The search by Nora Roberts

My copy in
swedish
Author: Nora Roberts
Title: The Search
Series: None
Genre: Adult fiction, mystery, contemporary romance
Purchase: Amazon | B&N
Rating:

About the book:
The serviceable latest from Roberts centers on Fiona Bristow, a professional canine search-and-rescue trainer, who moved to Orcas Island in Puget Sound eight years earlier, just after barely escaping from a serial killer. The story opens with Simon Doyle, an artisan cabinetmaker who arrives on the island with a puppy in tow. It's the puppy that brings Fiona and Simon together, and the romance gets off to a rocky start; he's grumpy and plainspoken; she doesn't scare easily. Then a serial killer begins operating within striking distance, and all Fiona's hard-won peace and equanimity begins to wobble: the man who almost killed her is in prison, but he's got a disciple on the outside. The serial killer plot is very familiar and without much to distinguish it, but the romance is finely done, with Roberts's trademark banter lighting up the page. Fiona and Simon are the main attraction, but the setting and the supporting characters—with paws and without—provide a vivid backdrop.

My thoughts:

I love just about everything Nora Roberts write! I think she is awesome so I knew I would like this book, and I did. It is just as good as anything else I´ve read from her. She has always been one of my favorite authors actually.

I really like when Roberts writes a mystery romance, I love those and this was great! I´m not usually a fan of mysteries but if there is a bit romance in it, why not!?!

I love Fiona, she has been through something so terrible but she is so strong and she fight for her life, for her happiness. I hope I would have that kind of strength if something this awful would happen to me.She is a happy and a very strong woman who knows what she wants. She she is also marked but her past and who wouldn´t be in her situation?!

Simon is so rough in his personality and I just love it. He is such an as at times. He says it like he sees it and he never says anything he doesn´t mean. He is also kind of hurtful sometimes when he says stuff but that is just the way he is and somehow Roberts makes him lovable! How is that even possible?

This is a really cute Love story with a mystery twist! A perfect blend between murder and romance!

I like most of the songs on her album unbroken but I am gonna show you the first song I heard from her. It was completely random that I found her actually. I was just looking around on youtube cuz I wanted something new to listen to and Voila! I found Demi Lovato. Awesome singer if you ask me!

Book review: Fairytale by Maggie Shayne

Author: Maggie Shayne
Title: Fairytale
Series: Fairies of rush #1
Genre: Adult paranormal, light erotic romance
Format: E-book kindle edition, paperback
Purchase: Amazon
Rating:

About the book:

As a boy , Adam Reid stumbled into an enchanted forest - and met a magical lady who showed him his destiny. Now he is a sober and serious adult. And memories have faded of a childhood event that could not possibly have occurred...could it?

Brigit Malone is on a mission - a dangerous, larcenous quest that leads the mysterious lovely into Adam Reid's home...and heart. For sparks fly when her warm ebony gaze meets his sapphire stare - and a passionate enchantment binds them with invisible chains. But it would be insane for Adam to believe Brigit's arrival had been foretold - or that the sensuous minx is truly half-fairy - even as they travel together down an impossible path toward a dire peril only the magic of love can overcome.

My thoughts:

First I want to say that this e-book is for free on amazon and that all in it self makes this book worth looking in to! Also there are some erotic parts in this book so it is not for young adults.

I loved this book! It was really good. This book was really cozy actually. I liked that the book is written from several people´s point of view, that makes it really interesting to read. How often does one not wonder what the H*ll he/she was thinking! Well you will in this book!

I also loved the characters Brigit and Adam. They have both have hard times growing up and it has marked them in different ways. Adam is very cynic and mistrusting of people but he is completely captivated by Brigit. Brigit on the other hand has been forced to do things she is not proud of in order to survive and it makes her think she might not be worthy of a happy ending of her own.

It was such a lovely story and I definitively recommend this book. It was a perfect after work light reading that lifted my mood after a long tiring day at work.

This week's question:
"If you could travel back in time, what era would you like to find yourself in and why?"

My Answer:
I would love to live in the 1600´s just because of the clothes!
If it wheren´t for the clothes I would not choose it since i´m very happy to live in the present time.
The corsets and dresses in this era is just so beautiful, probably a pain in the ass to wear but why not? :)

Waiting on Wednesday!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme and is hosted by Jill @ breaking the spine.

This week I am anxiously waiting for:

Elemental: The circle of fire by Alexandra May

Rose Frost discovers from Aiden Deverill, the bad boy around town,
that she’s a Primord Elemental in hiding and just like him, sort of.
Rose always knew there was something off when he was around.
She can never get a reading or feel his essence like she can other people.
Her sensory abilities just won’t work.

Instead she has to use her female intuition which isn't always a good thing.
He may be dazzlingly gorgeous with his sapphire blue eyes
and black hair, and he may be from the same group of ancient races
that her ancestors come from.
But it doesn't mean she has to like him.
Until he tells her that he never wants to see her again.

Rose realises she’s on her own once more,
she must find her missing grandmother, and some strange crystals
to prevent the worst from happening - an apocalypse, the end of mankind.
But a tragedy immediately happens for which Rose fears
she may never recover from fully, and emotionally she plunges to the depths.
Her weird dreams of Nerído Xipilé make her second-guess
Aiden once more. Is he really as evil as his grandfather?
Does Rose have the ability to cure the black hatred that lies in his heart?
