Paranormal Thursday is a new feature @Rather barefoot than bookless

In this feature you  highlight an author and a book that you really enjoy reading from in the paranormal genre. There are so many great books out there and so many awesome authors. So this is a chance for us all to recommend some books and authors to each other that we really like.
I hope you will like this feature and if you like to join in with a recommendation. Leave a comment and/or the url to your own blog post.

I have yet to read a book by Mead that I do not like! She is an awesome writer and she is so good with words. Her characters are always interesting, colorful and strong in personal and different ways. So they are intriguing and makes you want to continue to read about them and follow them on their journeys. I am also really fond of her own personal twist to the vampire world.  You can read more about her and her amazing books on goodreads and on richellemead.com

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.
