Paige Donovan is an ambitious college graduate who aspires to reach the top of the corporate ladder. She’s climbing fast when given the promotion of a lifetime at a prestigious fashion magazine in New York City. Her bright future comes to an unexpected halt after news of her father’s death. She inherits his old cabin in the Colorado Rockies, and just when she thinks her luck couldn't get any worse, she has a car accident in the mountains and awakens in the small, remote community of Black River.
Soon, she’s engulfed in the mystical world of Varulv---wolves descended from 13th century Scandinavia and blessed by Norse gods with the ability to appear human. Paige is desperate to return home, but never expects to fall for her rescuer, Riley Gray, a charming young werewolf from England who offers her an alternate future with his pack. Now, she must choose between the career she’s always wanted and the love she’s always dreamed.
I really liked this story. The story line was easy to follow and exciting. The book had what a book needs to be good. A good story that was both exciting, funny and lovable. It was fun that the author made references to Sweden because that is where I am from so that was extra fun.
The love story was awesome and so adorable. I really like Paige and her sort of down to earth character or at least that is the person she becomes thanks to Riley. When we first meet her she is kind a materialistic woman. Her reaction to the wolves was what one could expect and real. She didn't buy the hole thing right away and that made the story more believable. Riley is definitely a hunk but kind of weird at times. He sort of weirded me out in the beginning but he grows on you and after a while the weird factor is kind of cute. They seem so different but in the end it works for them and that is also probably what makes them so great together. Their love story is intense and something out of the ordinary and as a reader you fall right into it and it makes this book hard to put down and a story that is with you even when you are not reading.
The story is mostly about her getting used to the idea of wolves and if she should stay or not and a love that is so strong and intense it scares the hell out of Paige. They also run in to some trouble to spice the story up a little. This is a great story and worth your time. I hope you will give this one a try.
