I have actually never dissliked a book my frisends raved about. BUT I have one book that I really liked that I have seen extremely bad reviews on. The bad reviews was one of the reasons that I started reading it. I wanted to get my own opinion.

Hopping through. sometimes a bad review will get me to read a book too. Sometimes I can tell from the review that I would like a book for reasons the other person didn't.

I will read a book despite any bad reviews if it's one that caught my interest. I can't think of an example as it's been awhile since that happened to me!
These days it's pretty much 50/50 for me liking books people like and vice versa!
