This week I will highlight an author I recently discovered through a blogtour that will come up on the blog on march 23rd. I fell inlove with the story and Mariah´s way of writing. If youré curious you can pick up the book or check out my review on the 23rd =)

Beautiful Failure by Mariah Cole

If you're looking for a heartwarming story about a girl who falls deeply in love with a troubled boy who changes her life--a sob story with pretty metaphors and a million ways that'll tell you how "broken" she is, STOP. Don't read another word of this.

I'm not that type of girl.

My name is Emerald Anderson and I'm not going to bullshit you: I flunked out of college after my sophomore year, I've been fired from every job I've ever taken, and I've never had a fully functioning relationship in my life.

I wish I could say that I had a cheerleader in my corner, someone who says, "No, Emerald--You're great and you are good at something!" but I don't. My grandparents are completely oblivious to my life, and my mother's dying words to me were "You're going to end up just like me one day. A beautiful nothing."

She was right.

As I decide to start my life over and take two jobs that will forever change me--one from the inside, and one from the outside, I keep my mother's words close to my heart so I can keep the sexy and mysterious Carter Black away.

He's the first man who's ever pursued me, the first man who seems bent on finding out why I am the way I am, but he's wasting his time.

I'm not broken. I don't need to be fixed. I'm perfectly fine being a beautiful failure....

This week I will highlight a book and author that I am currently reading. I am totally hooked and inlove and I hope I don´t have to wait long for book 2!

Sculpt is an illegal fighter.

He’s also the lead singer of a local rock band.

No one knows his real name.

And from the moment I met him, he made me forget mine.

In order to convince Sculpt to give me self-defense lessons, I had to follow his one rule—no complaining or he’d walk. I didn’t think it would be a problem. I could handle a few bruises. What I hadn’t anticipated was landing on my back with Sculpt on top of me and my entire body burning up for him.

I tried to ignore it.

I failed of course. And having a hot, tattooed badass on top of me week after week, acting completely immune to what he was doing to my body—it was frustrating as hell, so I broke his rule—I complained.

Then he kissed me.

Author’s Note: This novella is Sculpt and Emily’s beginning and how they met. It is an extra and not required to be read before “Torn from You”. Their story and what happens to them is the novel “Torn from You”.

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

Andra Brynn

I really like this Author and the way she wrote the book "Where I end and you begin". It was an unusual writing style, I really enjoyed. I think Brynn has a way of really involve the reader in her beautiful story. It is beautiful but it is also kind of sad in many ways. I am definitely looking forward to more books written by Brynn because this was a great debut. You can read more about Brynn on Goodreads and on andrabrynn.com

For Bianca Ray, the past is always catching up, one way or another. Now in her third semester at college, it's doing it again. Too much drinking has led to plummeting grades and rising absences, putting her scholarships in peril. When she makes it clear that she needs help—all over the floor of her history class—she’s given one last chance to shape up: seek therapy and bring her grades up by the end of the semester, or she’s out.
Enter Catholic seminarian Daniel McGuire. The last thing Bianca wants is an aspiring priest to counsel her on how to live her life, but the handsome graduate student is different from the holy rollers she fled from at home. Gentle and unobtrusive, he helps her pick up the pieces and find a new way to live: not running from the past, but facing it head on.
But opening up her heart to release the pain means that something else can come in. As Bianca and Daniel grow closer, their relationship moves onto dangerous ground and the fragile courage Bianca has built up threatens to fail her. Can she exorcise the ghosts of her past, or will they catch hold and drag her down where not even Daniel can reach her?

Karla J. Nellenbach

I read such a good book by Nellenbach called A Sliver of Hope and it actually made me cry repeatedly! It was so emotional and sad and amazing. This author really knows how to write an amazing story that really speaks to you on so many levels. I can't wait to get my hands on more books written by her. She really has a way with words that will spellbound the reader. The book on showcase this week is A sliver of Hope by Nellenbach and it is a contemporary young adult romance. You can read more about Nellenbach on goodreads

None of their efforts are enough to pull Hannah off her self destructive path, though. Julian is the only one who can get through to her, working his way into her frozen soul with cocky remarks and genuine love that warms her from the inside out.
As Hannah works to find answers, she continues to uncover new secrets and people that reveal a side of Hope she had never shared with her twin. Alone now, Hannah must make a decision of her own: move on and start a new life with the people she has left, or let the weight of her grief drag her down with her sister.

Kendall Ryan

I have read two books by Kendall and I really liked them both. I like her writing style and her stories a lot so she will be our featured author this week. The first book I read was "Hard to love" and the second one is called "The Impact of you". Read more about Kendall Ryan on Goodreads.

Needing an escape from her past, Avery chooses a college where no one knows her. Keeping a low profile was the plan, falling for the intense frat boy, Jase wasn’t. Yet she can’t deny how alive she feels when he’s near. Even as common sense implores her to stay away, her body begs her to get closer.

Jase, numb from his own family drama, has grown bored with weekends fueled by nameless girls and countless bottles when he meets Avery. Helping her cope with her past is better than dealing with the bullshit his own life’s served up. Determined to drive away the painful secret she’s guarding, he appoints himself her life coach, and challenges her to new experiences. Getting close to her and being the one to make her smile are simply perks of the job.

But when Avery’s past boldly saunters in, refusing to be forgotten, can Jase live with the truth about the girl he’s fallen for?

E.K. Blair is debuting with the book Fading and wow what an awesome book. She really has a way with words like no other! So, I have the pleasure to do this feature another week and I have one more nice book to recommend for you guys. =)

I had loved Rule Archer since the first moment I ever laid eyes on him. He was everything I shouldn't want and the only person I went out of my way to not try and please. He only saw me as a brat, and an entitled, stuck up princess but worse than that all he saw when he looked at me was his deceased twin's girl. It broke my heart because as much as I had loved Remy Archer there was never anything romantic between us and no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that loving Rule was a terrible idea, my poor heart just wouldn't listen. We tolerated each other, barely and had forged an uneasy alliance until one night I had too much to drink and changed the way we were forever. Suddenly life long secrets were no longer hidden and the one thing I always wanted for myself seemed obtainable as long as I was willing to go through hell to hold onto it.

Shaw Landon was a class act and I had no idea what to do with her. She was tied to my family, tied to the person that was my other half so I tolerated her and her haughty attitude when I didn't have any other choice. What I didn't know was that a short skirt and too many cocktails on her birthday was going to change my outlook on her for the rest of my life. Some people thought I hid behind all my tattoos and piercings, that I tried to distance myself from my dead twin, Shaw saw through it all and wasn't scared of what was underneath. We weren't supposed to be together, weren't supposed to be anything but uncomfortable acquaintances but that all changed in the blink of an eye. Now I had to figure out just how a girl like her and a guy like me were supposed to be in love without destroying each other. Add in her custom made ex and two disapproving sets of parents and the whole situation sounded like it was more trouble then it was worth.

Recommended for mature readers due to sexual content, language and drinking

I have never been much for reading contemporary books before. BUT, this christmas I discovered that I really really enjoyed to read contemporary romance books. I am so happy I gave it a try! So, this week I will step in and do this feature since it´s always Cecilia who does it =) I want to highlight Abbi Glines who is the author of for example Fallen too Far. That is the book I started with and I fell inlove with her writing. She writes a bit more on the grown up side since there is sex mentioned in the books. But she also writes YA books so there is something for everyone! More about Abbi Glines on Goodreads.

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

This week I want to highlight Rosamunde Pilcher. She is another author I read a lot from when I was younger and I really love her writing style. She is amazing at capturing the scenery in her books. When you open a book by her and starts reading it is like you step inside her books and it´s like you are right there. You can really see the world she is describing. It is just amazing. This week I am going to highlight my favorite book by her called September. You can read more about Rosamunde Pilcher on goodreads.

Rosamunde Pilcher's Scotland ...where the fields flourish with greenery, the hills bloom with purple, and the lochs glitter with the bright blue of the sky.
September...when the heather is in full flower, the first chill of autumn cools the air, and the countryside stirs with hunt balls, dinner parties, and dance.
Rosamunde Pilcher's September. . . a story of homecomings and heartbreaks, friendships, betrayals, forgiveness and love

This week I want to introduce to you an author that I was introduced to by a friend of mine in  junior high school. So it was a while ago. But I still remember that first book i read about her. I was completely in love with her world and her characters. I´ve read several books by her since then and I have also seen a movie based on one of her novels. She is an amazing writer and she writes with such passion. Her characters feels so real and I felt like I was inside her books when I read them and went through their trials in life with them. She is really good at that. Read more about Maeve Binchy on goodreads and on maevebinchy.com

NIGHT SKY BY JOLENE PERRY

Girl I’ve loved, girl I’m falling for. Now that they’re both in view, the problem is clear.
After losing Sarah, the friend he’s loved, to some other guy, Jameson meets Sky. Her Native American roots, fluid movements, and need for brutal honesty become addictive fast. This is good. Jameson needs distraction – his dad leaves for another woman, his mom’s walking around like a zombie, and Sarah’s new boyfriend can’t keep his hands off of her.
As he spends time with Sky and learns about her village, her totems, and her friends with drums - she's way more than distraction. Jameson's falling for her fast.
But Sky’s need for honesty somehow doesn’t extend to her life story – and Jameson just may need more than his new girl to keep him distracted from the disaster of his senior year.                                           //Ad on goodreads//
