TGIF - Best I´ve read so far!

This Friday´s question over at G-reads:

which top 3 books are the best you’ve read so far this year?

I don´t think I´ve ever been so happy it´s friday!
The best three?

I think I have three books I really loved:

The Willow´s haven by Hope Collier (goodreads)
This is a must read in my opinion

Night sky by Jolene B Perry (goodreads)
This is such a wonderful and touching story

Huanted by Dana Michelle Burnett (goodreads)
This is the second book in spiritus series! And it´s amazing, as is the first one! Who doesn´t love a great ghost story?

TGIF - Why a book blog?

This Friday´s question over at G-reads:

A Book Blogger is Born: What made you decide to
start your very own book blog?

Wow it was a long time since I did this Friday meme! Between work and family there have not really been that much time for the blog lately. But that will change I hope. This week has been better, and we are celebrating our very first birthday on our blog so this question is actually perfect!

I started this blog when I was on maternity-leave. (May 15th 2011) I was at home with my little son who I love to death and I was just so bored to be home all day long and have no one to talk to. (I am the first one of my friends and sisters to have a child) So I was going crazy and felt I needed something productive to do with my time except reading and taking care of my little baby. That is how it all started. It was perfect to get to read all my books and then do something with that. I have had a book blog before but when I had that I never found any other book bloggers so I just did not think that was very fun so I stopped. But now I am following so many books blogs it is crazy! But I love it, this blogging community is so amazing!

Then I decided it would be fun if my sisters wanted to join since they also like to read a lot. In the end it was one of my sisters (Sandra) who decided to join the blog and the rest is history as they say. It has been such a great year with lots of fun! But it is harder to find the time for the blog when you are working and have a child to take care of, so it is good we are two to take care of this blog. Without my sister I am not sure I could have made it to the one year mark.

Thank god it´s Friday!

TGIF @ G-reads:

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week's question is: Writing Reviews 101: What's your process for writing book reviews? Any tips or suggestions you would recommend to other bloggers?

My answer:

Well I am not sure I have a process. I read one book at a time and when I am done I do a review. I do short review because I my self am no fan of long ones and never have the patient to read long reviews so I tend to think short is better.
I write my thoughts of  the book, about the characters the story line but try not to revel to much about it. I probably say some words about the writing style as well.

Book Blogs That Make You Smile: Pick 5 book blogs you visit often & think others should, too.

I love these blogs and I visit them regularly. I might not always comment but I do read them and they are awesome. And there are  others of course but I only got to name five. There are a lot of great blogs out there.

TGIF

This meme is hosted by Ginger at Greads

This Friday's Question:

To-Be-Read's: How big is your pile? Which book keeps getting pushed down the stack, but you keep meaning to read it?

My To-Be-Read pile isn´t all that big actually. But I do have a few books I keep putting last in the pile. I think they are good, at least my sister Sandra says so but somehow they just keep getting pushed to the bottom of the pile. It is probably because they are e-books and not my favorite format to be honest. But it is still strange because I do read e-books and enjoy them so I don´t really know what the deal is with these two.

My pile:
Hades by Alexandra Adornetto
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
The search by Nora Roberts
The two on the bottom that seems to stay there:
Beautifully broken By Sherry Soule
Oriana´s eyes by Celeste Simone

This Friday's Question:

Banned Books: How do you feel about the censorship of the freedom to read? Do you think the education system needs to be more strict on what children are exposed to in books?

Okay. My first thought was, H*LL NO! I hate when books are censored and it might be very naive of me but I sort of didn´t think it happened any more at least not here. But I guess I think that children should be thought to read books that are written for their age and perhaps not read adult books until they are adults them selves. But then again, I guess that depend on the content in the book. There is a big grey area here. But in the big picture there should be no banned books! OI think people should be more worried about what kids are watching on tv and on their computers. Books are, according to me, harmless in a way TV is not.

THANK GOD IT´S FRIDAY!

This friday question:
From book to television: Which book would you love to see made in to a tv series or a movie!

Wow, that would be like everything I´ve read lately.... LoL... okay, so maybe not everything.

But I would love to see the morganville vampires by Rachel Caine and Vampire academy series by Richelle Mead made in to a tv series.

The hush, hush saga by Becca Fitzpatrick would be awesome if they were made in to movies! Firelight by Sophie Jordan would also be an awesome movie!

Friday Hops

Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Bookswhere you have an awesome opportunity to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!

The question this week:
“What are you most looking forward to this fall/autumn season – A particular book release? Halloween? The leaves changing color? Cooler temperatures? A vacation?

My answer:
Believe it or not but there are a lot of things to look forward to in the fall!
I love that air is clearer in the fall and that you start to really enjoy when the sun is shining cuz it is warming you in a way it does not in the summer. It is really different when The air is a little cooler. The sun is really much more enjoyable then. I love the colors on the leaves as well it is just so amazingly beautiful.
I also love the fashion in the fall because I love the knitted sweaters and the knitted scarfs it is so cozy in a way.
And this fall I have a lot of books to look forward to! Like "Silence" by Becca Fitzpatrick and "Last breath" by Rachel Caine just to name two.

This Friday's Question:

Making a Difference: Which book(s) would you put in the hands of
today's teenagers in hopes of making a difference in their lives?

My Answer:
Well that would be "A walk to remember" by Nicholas Sparks. I just think that is an amazing book. I and I just cried and cried when I read it. I think it is good for a teenager because it shows that there is so much more behind the surface and I think teenagers today worry too much about whats on the surface to even look further.

This week's Book Blogger Hop question is:
“Non-book-related this week!! Do you have pets?”

My Answer:

NO I do not. I am not a pet person. It is just to much work and to much cleaning and I do not like to clean so why would I give myself even more to clean up? So no, no pets and if I may decide there will never be any pets in this house. I mean I like animals, I do, but not inside my home. I just think they belong elsewhere. My sister Sandra though, has a cat. She is really cute and her name is skrÃ¥llan.

Book Associations: Which genre, authors, or particular books do you think people associate with your reading style?

Oh, I have no idea! But if I would guess I would probably say fantasy and romance as for genre and Authors? Stephanie Meyer and Nora Roberts probably.

TGIF and follow friday

TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger @ Greads.

This Friday´s question:
Taking it personal: Which book have effected you in a personal level and lingered in your mind long after you closed the pages?

Q. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

Since this this answer works on both these questions I put them together this week.

You might find my answer to this question a bit strange. Actually I´m not even sure why this book effected me so much. I read the twilight series a few years back. It was around the time the first movie twilight was on the cinemas. I went my last year at the university and I had not read anything really for pleasure for a few years because of school. You see I can´t read a book for pleasure at the same time I need to study and read books for school, because I get completely trapped in that book.  I can´t put it down and concentrate on school so I stopped reading all together. But the I saw this movie Twilight and really enjoyed it. I saw that this movie was based on the books by Stephanie Meyer and by some reason I decided to order the books home. I read them all during christmas break. And they just got stuck with me. I loved the character of Bella. She was so awkward and I could totally relate to that. Like I said I can´t really say why I liked it so much but there was just something in this story that just talked to me on some level. I don´t know. I really loved it and it was this book that got me started reading again. This book is what got me in to this genre in the first place.

TGIF #6

TGIF is a fun little feature
hosted at GReads! Every week we re-cap what has happened on the blog plus Ginger asks a question for us to answer.

This Friday's Question:

Character Envy: If you could be one character from a book,
who would you choose & why?
--------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a really tricky one I must say! There are several characters I envy in some ways due to their personality and parts of their lives. The problem is that most of them have kind of big issues and bad stuff happening to them.I love the strength and determination that some of the characters have and that is something I wish some more of in myself.
Therefore I think I will have to choose either Claire from The Morganville series or Bella from the Twilight saga. And also they have some nice boys in their love lives hehe.

TGIF #5

TGIF is a fun little feature hosted at GReads! Every week we re-cap what has happened on the blog plus Ginger asks a question for us to answer.

This Friday's Question:

Bookshelf Tour: Where do you keep your books at home?
Are they organized?

Now, that is a really good question. And the Answer is: EVERYWHERE!
Okey so maybe not everywhere exactly. My most recent books I have in my bookshelf in the living room. Last time I counted my books (like 5 yrs ago) I have little over 300 book and the most of them are in my basement sadly. We don´t have room for all my books and well, when you move as often as I have you just don´t have the energy to unpack and repack and unpack all those book over and over.

This shelf is actually pretty neat. I mean like to have my books by Author but not necessarily in alphabetic order. I tend to organize them after the ones I like the best. But after a while things get a bit messy, since my son want to take every book I have and throw them on the floor. So I have to move my books higher and higher up and that means no room so well....

That is when my book shelf start to look like this! Very messy if you ask me. I like it more when it is a little more  organized than it is in this picture.

I also have my books in Swedish on their own shelf I don´t like to mixed them. English books on one side and Swedish on the other side. They are not written by Swedish authors but they are translated in Swedish :)
